The Bendigo Bank Braves have continued their impressive off season recruiting drive with the signing of current Illawarra Hawks guard Indiana Faithfull to join the team at the completion of the current 2018 NBL season.
The 194cm 27 year old who hails from Castlecrag in New South Wales has spent considerable time in the United States playing High School and College basketball and prior to playing for the Hawks in the current NBL season averaged 19.7 points per game at an impressive 47 per cent from the field, 4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for the Sydney Comets in the NSW Waratah league which saw him selected into the competitions all star five for the 2017 season. Faithfull has also been a member of the Sydney Kings in the NBL and spent a season playing in the SEABL with the Canberra Gunners in 2016.
Bendigo Bank Braves head coach Ben Harvey is looking forward to what Faithfull can add to his team especially given he will form a formidable back court combination with Jeremy Kendle “Indiana is a really exciting athlete with a high basketball IQ and very efficient at both ends of the floor which is exactly what I was looking for when I started the process of putting the team together and you add his skill set as a point guard to what Jeremy brings and I think we could have one of the strongest guard combinations in the league this year so we can’t wait for Indiana and his Fiancé Alex to arrive in Bendigo ” Harvey said
With the addition of Faithfull to an already strong core of Kendle, Import big man Ray Turner, Chris Hogan and the returning Matt Andronicos, Harvey is confident the pieces are falling into place for a strong 2018 SEABL season “I am very pleased where we sit at this point early in the preseason and with some more signings to come in the coming month this will really give us some momentum heading into our training and practice games in March” Harvey added.
The Bendigo Bank Braves will open their season with a road trip to Diamond Valley on April 6th while their first home game of the season will be on Saturday April 21st against the Hobart Chargers.
