Lady Braves Head Coach Megan Moody confirmed today that a strong contingency of Spirit players will line up for the Lady Braves in the 2018 SEABL season.
In what represents an unprecedented nod to the female basketball pathway in Bendigo, Spirit players Kara Tessari, Nadeen Payne and Ashleigh Karaitiana team up with local development players Jessie Rennie, Ahlise Hurst, Maddison Wild and rising star Maddi Sexton to make up the seven player announcement.
“It is great to have a group that has spent time together on the court and understand each other’s style” said coach Megan Moody. “Whilst the Spirit season hasn’t seen us perform on the ladder, unforeseen injuries have provided the local girls the opportunity for court minutes that allowed them to showcase their talent and potential.”
As Assistant Coach for the Bendigo Bank Spirit and the first female to be appointed head coach of the Lady Braves in the SEABL, Megan is passionate about the local pathway from participation programs at a junior level all the way to the elite national level and is thrilled to be announcing a line-up that Bendigo will be proud to support.
