Our History

Our History and Our Team. 

Local Wheelchair Braves started out as a few people shooting hoops in 2008, then after a few years of limbo DSR Victoria organised training in 2012 and the Bendigo Prospectors were created, before later being rebranded as Bendigo GOLD in 2014.

In May 2016 Bendigo GOLD Team Manager Mark Logan and Bendigo Basketball Association Director Daniel Nancarrow proposed a merger to the Bendigo Basketball Association. Rebranding and full financial support to become Bendigo Wheelchair Braves. This was adopted with welcome arms.

Throughout 2016 and 2017 we have played against Geelong, Shepparton and Ballarat in their home towns.
