For the 2025-26 season, the tryouts will be divided into three distinct phases:
Phase 1:
This phase is specifically for new athletes who weren’t chosen for a Junior Braves team last season. Athletes selected for a Junior Braves team last season are NOT eligible to join this phase. Only athletes selected in Phase 1 will move on to the next stages, with communication about their selection sent out after the session.
Phase 2:
Comprising two sessions, Phase 2 is open to athletes selected from Phase 1 as well as those who were part of a Junior Braves team in the previous season.
Phase 3:
The top 20 candidates for VJBL will be named, along with other team selections announced. Those in the top 20 will attend a further session on 5 October, from which the VJBL Team will be selected.

Phase 1 – Week 1: Sunday, August 10
(All age groups* newcomers and unselected in 2024/25 only)
Phase 2 – Week 2 & 3: Sunday, August 17 & 24
(All age groups and athletes progressing from Phase 1)
Phase 3: Week 4 Sunday, August 31
(Top 20 VJBL candidates named & lower teams named)
Phase 3- Week 5: Sunday, October 5

In case an athlete is unable to attend the scheduled dates due to exceptional circumstances but wishes to be considered for a team, a written request outlining the circumstances must be submitted to Joe Hurst, Director of Coaches & Athlete Development (DOCAD) at https://forms.monday.com/forms/83bb686ac55a3384d536a90a89935648?r=use1 for review.
Please be advised that the Junior Braves program will introduce a new fee structure for the 2024-25 season. Details regarding the fee structure will be provided during the tryout registration process, with payment required shortly after the announcement of the Junior Braves teams for the upcoming season.
