Bendigo Basketball congratulates our Under 14 Boys who finished Runners up at the JCC in Ballarat
Coach Corey Mulqueen says the biggest thrill was for the team to perform well against some of the best.
“This team is amazing, they’ve achieved so much already this season. They won the Bendigo Classic, runner-up at South Eastern and made it through to the Top 20 in VJBL. But the biggest achievement, and thrill, was for these boys to excel at Country Champs and make the grand final of Division 1. To finish runner-up, to a very good team in Warragul, and boast the No. 2 mantle in Country Victoria, is absolutely outstanding. I’m so proud of these boys, They’re awesome”.
The Under 14 Boys got a win against arch rivals and home team Ballarat in a Quarter Final matchup.
“A win over our traditional arch rival, particularly on their home deck with all the support they had, was such a satisfying moment. The boys really stood up in that game, and produced when it counted most. Even our grand final defeat proved that this group is so capable. The result illustrates their ability against the very best Country has to offer”.
“Coaching is never easy but these boys have made it so enjoyable; almost every minute. They’ve been willing to try new things and have embraced our different perspective. Thanks so much to Trev & Alex, and to our amazing TM, Sherry. What a stellar crew we have”.
